The beginning of Westpeak Mobility
Our story starts in 2001. I (Alan) was offered a job as a delivery driver at a small medical supply company. MaxMed was a locally owned company that provided wheelchairs, hospital beds, and other medical supplies. This job enticed me for 2 reasons. 1. I was in school to become an occupational therapist and I thought this would be a fun job to get me into the industry that I was studying to be a part of. 2. I would no longer have to work weekends. A few months after starting there was an opening in the service department and I was offered the opportunity to move up. A new driver was hired to replace me and that is when I first me Jordan Israel. Jordan eventually moved into the service department with me and we had the privilege of working together for several years.
In 2003 I was offered a position at United Seating and Mobility to be a seating technician. I would then sit for and pass my ATP exam in 2005. I was then asked to move to Michigan to assist in their efforts for growing business in that area. After I moved to Michigan, Jordan was offered a position at USM. During the next decade, I would work at several other smaller companies in different capacities building and growing each of those organizations. Jordan remained with USM though their transition to NuMotion and worked managing their warehouse, service department and compliance.
In 2016 I was tired of working for companies that were built to sell, I started Westpeak Mobility for the purpose of giving myself the opportunity to do what I love without the fear of company selling out. Jordan was one of my first calls and he joined me in early 2017. We worked without compensation for a year as we started working through the process of checking off the needed requirements to be able to provide CRT products though insurance.
Today, Westpeak Mobility has 20 employees over 2 locations. Our mission is to enhance a person’s life through improving access to home and community with quality medical mobility equipment and services. We are committed to helping each individual in a caring, compassionate and knowledgeable way while maintaining honesty and integrity at all times. We are passionate about our mission and the individuals that we have the pleasure of serving.
